In its quest to diversify its business, Grupo Abrisa has partnered – through an acquisition of shares – with Grupo Asegurador Mapfre, a leader in Spain’s insurance market. In May 2005, it received authorization from the Insurance Superintendence (Superintendencia de Seguros) to begin operations in October of the same year.

Mapfre contributes with its experience, expertise, technology  support  and financial strength (AA Rating  by Standard & Poor’s   and  A +  by A. M. Best) in the insurance industry.
